Recruitment process outsourcing?

I'm glad to see that this is back - I'm interested to see if anyone out there can help me. I'm a generalist with a medium size company (1985 emp.) - pretty well versed in the recruitment market.

My company has my team looking into recruitment process outsourcing to serve as our candidate generation and light screening functions. Our RFI is nearly ready to send, and now we are prequalifying potential vendors.

Does anyone have any experience with these kind of services? If you do, what did you find worked well, what didn't? There has been alot of noise about this on SHRM and HCI publications, so I want to hear about some real life experiences. Any recommendations of contacts would also help.
